Sun, 26 November 2006 ![]() Essentially, Jesse Elliott (on the right) is These United States, but the input of Tom Hnatow is not to be dismissed. I loved these guys and had the best time with them in the basement of IOTA in Arlington, VA last night. Jesse Elliott is a star on the rise. He reminds me of a 60's poet. A joy to be around and his music kicks major ass.
You can't Buy the Album yet, so go to their Myspace and then write and thank me for introducing you to this magical music. You're welcome. Photo by me in the basement of IOTA. Comments[2] |
Sun, 19 November 2006 Billy Harvey is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable podcasts I've done. He's so freakin' talented and fun to hang with. He also wears moon boots and gardens in his underwear.Huge props to Mick Wainman for hooking up this show! Buy the Album Comments[17] |

Mon, 24 April 2006 ![]() JJ Appleton doesn't take no for an answer. He's one of the hardest working independent artists I've encountered. It's that kind of attitude that's landed him on Last Call with Carson Daly as well as playing coveted slots at Sundance. Comments[2] |
Sun, 9 April 2006 ![]() Paul Chesne is a rocker. Just drop into one of his live shows and at any given time you'll see members of The Red Hot Chili Peppers in the audience. Top musicians line up to play with the guy. Women swoon. Some people just have it. Paul Chesne has "it." I took this photo of him in my former living room while he played "You Owe Me." Comments[1] |

Mon, 13 March 2006 Susan Marshall is without a doubt one of the finest singers I've ever heard. Her voice comes from a place deep inside her soul.
Rolling Stone's Shirley Halperin speaks of Susan's performance at the Gram Parsons tribute:
"...But the spine-chill award went to Memphis soul singer Susan Marshall, who belted a powerful "Do Right Woman" that practically brought people to their knees. "She's my secret weapon," Polly said. "No one knows who she is, but she wows them every time." My thanks to Jeff Cline who engineered this show at The University of Memphis. Buy the Album Comments[0] |
